How to Make Instant Mushroom Coffee: Hot, Iced & Latte Recipes

Beyond the Veil Mushroom Coffee is instant: measure it into your cup, add water, and stir. You do not need a coffee maker, French press, or grinder. Start with one tablespoon and adjust the water or milk to get the flavor you like.

Measure the right serving

  • Regular Mushroom Coffee: 1 tablespoon (6.5 g), containing 2,000 mg of mushroom extracts and 90 mg of caffeine.
  • Decaf Mushroom Coffee: 1 tablespoon (7.1 g), containing 2,100 mg of mushroom extracts and 2 g of organic agave inulin.

A kitchen scale is useful when you want to follow the gram amount precisely. Both bags contain 30 servings. Extra powder means extra servings; changing the water amount alone changes the strength of the drink, not the ingredients in the tablespoon you measured.

How to make a hot cup

  1. Measure one tablespoon into a mug.
  2. Add hot water. For the regular blend, 10–12 oz is a useful starting point; adjust the amount to taste. For decaf, begin with your preferred mug size and adjust.
  3. Stir until the coffee dissolves.
  4. Enjoy black, or add milk, creamer, cinnamon, or your preferred sweetener.

For a stronger-tasting cup, use less water first. For a milder cup, add more water or milk. You can adjust the flavor while keeping the measured serving the same.

How to make iced mushroom coffee

Our regular Mushroom Coffee can be stirred directly into cold water. A second option, useful for either blend, is to dissolve the tablespoon in a small amount of hot water first.

  1. Measure one tablespoon into a heat-safe cup.
  2. Add a small amount of hot water and stir until dissolved.
  3. Add cold water or cold milk to reach your preferred strength.
  4. Pour over ice and stir again.

Adding cold liquid before the ice helps limit melting. If your drink becomes watery, start with less water or add more ice after the coffee has cooled. Use a heat-safe cup for the hot-water step.

How to make a mushroom coffee latte

For a simple latte-style drink, dissolve one tablespoon in a small amount of hot water, then top with warmed milk or a milk alternative. Froth the milk if you like a foam layer. For an iced version, use cold milk and ice.

This uses instant coffee as the base; it is not brewed espresso. Adjust the amount of milk to suit your taste, and choose sweetened or unsweetened milk according to your preferences.

What if it tastes too strong or too mild?

  • Too strong: stir in additional water or milk.
  • Too mild: use less liquid in your next cup.
  • Not fully mixed: stir thoroughly, or dissolve it in a small amount of hot water before adding cold liquid.

Our regular blend has a medium coffee flavor with a hint of chocolate. Milk and creamer will change that flavor, so try it plain first if you want to compare.

Can you make decaf the same way?

Yes. The decaf blend is also instant and uses a one-tablespoon serving. It contains a small amount of residual caffeine; the exact amount per serving has not been verified. Compare regular and decaf ingredients, caffeine, and price.
